A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to inactive addresses under the very same domain. For example, an email message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can get emails from acquaintances or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting
If you have a shared website hosting service with us and you’d like to enable the catch-all functionality for a particular email mailbox that you have in the account, it will take literally just one click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have created under any domain registered in your account. You can select one single address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all email messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be received there. Clicking the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will show a warning note and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature until you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The catch-all option can be activated without difficulty if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with our company. All the email addresses that you have set up with the domain names hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be listed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will notice a tiny button conveniently situated right next to each of them. With only one click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this option using the context menu that will appear. In case any of the preconditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will inform you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
